Just weeks before the 20th Asian Games (Asiad 20) in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, the Vietnam women's volleyball team faces an unprecedented squad crisis, particularly in the outside hitter (OH) position. Head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet lost two key attackers—Nguyen Thi Uyen (injury) and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh (health issues)—during the 2026 Asian Championship in China.
